Impact of fast food outlets near schools.

According to Columbia University a fast food restuarant within 500 metres of a school can lead to a 5% increase in obesity rates at that school. Have a look at the full report

I'm really glad that you've mentioned this. The first step in fighting childhood obesity is to clear out all school zones of tempting fast- food restaurants and replacing them with healthier options. While it's hard to reverse the effect of instilling poor eating habits in our children, there is still hope if we take the control back from restaurants like McDonald's
